How To Wear Denim Part I : The Denim Dress…

September is about fresh starts, new projects!  So I heard through the hype… Nevertheless, I am the captain of my boat and make decisions as to when I am ready… It seems I am ready though!  Here is one little project about the blog: I think about starting a series of posts about denim how-to. Because really, denim is modern and offers countless options of pulling off a cool and chic outfit every day. I do not claim to be an expert but I do have some experience with denim. It has been my go-to for so many years plus I worked in a major denim fashion group.

The second project is a-timid- attempt to vlogging…You know what that is? This is a combo of video-ing and blogging.  My best friend suggested I should give it a try. I watched over again Leandra Medine’s vlogging posts and her chatroom  and thought why not? – Hence here I am…

Let’s go back to the subject of this post: the denim dress!

Denim has been a strong trend lately and the denim dress comes back in full force this Fall season. I love the details added to certain pieces that help give it a fresh new take.  The denim dress is really one of my favorite pieces.

A denim dress is versatile and all-in-one. It is a bit like the denim jumpsuit.  Whether you wear it off-duty or on a formal occasion, the denim dress is a no brainer. To transition to the Fall season, you may wear it with bare legs and low boots or ballet flats. When the temperature drops, adopt high boots or over-the-knee boots and a knit jacket for a rock attitude.

I went for a work style outfit with a long sleeved dress from Maje cinched with a velvet belt which I paired with lace-up pumps and a red Chloé bag.

What makes the difference is the way you accessorize it. You can wear a neck scarf around the neck, the wrist or even the bag. If you want to define the waistline, use a denim shirt or jacket of slightly different hue. You may also wear it as coat over leather pants and do some layering…So many desirable options…

You will find at the end of the post some of the best denim dresses from Topshop to AG X Alexa Chung. I also love this piece from the German brand Hallhuber that I recently discovered. Which one do you like best? Will you adopt the denim dress for Fall and beyond? And tell me what do you think about vlogging?
